SOFOMARIN is the OEM supplier to Amel for many plumbing parts. Several owners and I went to SOFOMARIN to find replacements for the Primary and Secondary Saltwater Manifolds for the SM2k and 54. SOFOMARIN is an expert source for plumbing parts made of Polypropylene (PP) and Glass-fiber reinforced Polypropylene (PPG). The following replacements were designed by SOFOMARIN using PP & PPG.
Amel SM 2000 Secondary Saltwater Manifold:
The SM2k original Secondary Saltwater Manifold was made primarily from copper. This is susceptible to corrosion and deformity when hose clamps are overtightened. SOFOMARIN designed a replacement that is made of glass-fiber reinforced polypropylene, the same as used in the A55 and subsequent Amel models, and includes a shutoff valve for each output.

Replacement SM2k Secondary Saltwater Manifold:
The replacement Primary Saltwater Manifold from SOFOMARIN requires the replacement of the Vetus #1320 50mm Sea Chest. You can also take this opportunity to move the top of the Sea Chest to the actual waterline.

Amel 54 Secondary Saltwater Manifold:
The A54 original Secondary Saltwater Manifold was made primarily from copper. This is susceptible to corrosion and deformity when hose clamps are overtightened. SOFOMARIN designed a replacement that is made of the same materials used in the A55 and subsequent Amel models and includes a shutoff valve for each output. We determined the best way to replace the original 54 Secondary SW Manifold was to replace it in 2 pieces which are coupled by a 50mm reinforced hose. This allows the flexibility needed with some 54s.
Amel SM, SM2k & 54 Primary Saltwater Manifold:
The Primary Saltwater Sea Chest is made by Vetus and modified by Amel. The modifications include a reinforced top and an added extension where the elbow attaches.
SOFOMARIN is the supplier to Amel for most plumbing parts including the hoses Amel uses on most plumbing. They normally only sell to manufacturers. I negotiated special pricing for Amel owners buying these newly designed Secondary Saltwater Manifold kits, and with the help of several Amel owners, these kits were designed to be installed by the owner. The SM installation is easier than the 54.
Amel began using this type of Saltwater distribution during the production of the 55, but not all 55s have this. If you order one of these, at the same time you can also order miscellaneous hoses that will match your original equipment. You should not contact SOFOMARIN to order only hose or other pieces because they really are not set up for retail sales. Please respect this.
