MARCO variable speed pumps normally do not require an accumulator tank. However, since the Amel 54 and 55 have rigid plastic (PEX), copper pipe, and solenoid ON/OFF valves, I recommend that all Amel 54 and Amel 55 clients buy an accumulator tank with whatever MARCO pump they select. The Amel 53 Super Maramu does not have PEX but does have some copper plumbing. It does not have solenoid ON/OFF valves and probably has sufficient rubber hose to absorb pressure shock. I do NOT recommend an accumulator tank for the Super Maramu.
