HDI Marine - Cast 316 Stainless Marine Exhaust

As all of you know, the exhaust elbow on your Yanmar or Volvo is an important component. About 11 years ago, HDI Marine made a 316 stainless steel casting of the first marine exhaust elbow. Today they make over 70 different elbows. While on my world cruise, I had 2 Yanmar OEM elbows begin to leak at the weld spots. An OEM elbow will range between $395 and $500. Unfortunately, I had one failure in Thailand, where there is a 100% import duty. That elbow cost me $1,000 USD. About 3 years before I sold SM #387, I replaced the OEM elbow with a cast 316 stainless steel elbow from HDI Marine for $330 less 10% Yacht School Discount. Today, I am sure it is just as perfect as the day I stepped off BeBe.
